Uploaded changes in style sheets not recognised on site
OK, firstly forgive my noob question but I have spent hours trying to get this to work and no joy.... All FTP connections seem fine, I can amend a style sheet, view the changes to a template, seemingly successfully upload the changes using Filezilla but when I then view my site the changes have not occured. Can anyone please help me with the most obvious thing I may be doing wrong or point me to a specific wiki on this type of problem. Appreciate all help on this. Cheers, Mike.

Re: Uploaded changes in style sheets not recognised on site
thanks for your reply boco... yes I had already tried that but still no joy. I can however make changes to other parts of the site (say shopping cart pay methods for example) and those changes upload fine. It seems to be that I am unable to make changes to the web template - even something very simple like a background colour on one section of a page. Is it possible the template is locked from this sort of editing or is it just me being a dumbass?
Cheers, Mike.

It's entirely possible, but only your hoster knows for sure. What if you delete the old file on the server first (make a backup)?

Thanks again boco... I have made contact with the third party supplier of the template to try and get this resolved.boco wrote:It's entirely possible, but only your hoster knows for sure. What if you delete the old file on the server first (make a backup)?

Re: Uploaded changes in style sheets not recognised on site
so, deleting file had no effet on the upload. In the end what I have done is download the entire template folder, edit the various files that i need to, zipped the whole folder up again keeping the same template name and then uploading the zipped file using the website content management system and overwriting the existing template. Very cumbersome approach but it did work.boco wrote:It's entirely possible, but only your hoster knows for sure. What if you delete the old file on the server first (make a backup)?
