I use the latest version of FileZilla. When I try to connect to the server, I get this error message:



I already talked to the people at HostEurope and they assure me that both my password and my user name are correct and work just fine. They don't see any reason for trouble on their end. I double and triple checked if I entered everything correctly and chose all the right settings (FTPES, passive), but I still get this message.

Any non-ASCII character in either username or password?

Well, the password used to be only smallcase letters and numbers and now it contains an underscore to make it safer. So no, no umlauts, ßs, macrons or any fancy stuff. Standard English alphabeth plus numbers plus underscore.

So you changed the password recently?

Yes, but it didn't work before I changed it, and I haven't changed it since the server people told me it was working either.

Since it's correct username and password, is the hostname correct?

Also, which type of hosting package do you have?

And I tried several variations of the host name, but only one even got me to this error message. The url without the www in front.
