I just upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04. Now when I run 'filezilla', the program loads fine. However, when I try to connect to one of my sites, it crashes and dumps the following error:
doriad@david-lab:~/temp$ filezilla
The program 'filezilla' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 36989 error_code 3 request_code 152 minor_code 3)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
---------------
I did what the error said (run with --sync) but it crashes at exactly the same time.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks,
David

Of course. Did you expect it to magically cure the error? The --sync parameter is only for getting a better result from the debugger.I did what the error said (run with --sync) but it crashes at exactly the same time.
Is there anything special about the server? Does it use SFTP? Any encryption like FTP over TLS? We had reports about a bugged GnuTLS version in Ubuntu...
No support requests over PM! You will NOT get any reply!!!

Known problem but nothing I can do about. Canonical did many dubious changes to many system libraries in Ubuntu that are interfering with other programs. My suggestion would be to switch to Debian Linux.

Hahaha switch OS because of one small application? Shouldn't it be removed from the Ubuntu software sources if it doesn't work?
