Thanks Mari

Official binaries of Filezilla 3.0.7 or higher need 10.5 - Apple changed some libraries in their OS.

Note that this only applies to the official binary builds, self-compiled Filezilla will work.

Not neccessarily. If you download the source and build it yourself, it will run. You need Leo only for the official Mac binaries provided here. The reason is that botg (THE developer) does not have access to a Tiger system anymore. There is some library incompatibility between 10.4 and 10.5.

Version 3.0.6 will run on 10.4, but it's use is not recommented. Due to a recently discovered bug only 3.0.9.3 is really safe to use ATM. Search the forums, there are plenty of threads about that problem already.

Binary support for Tiger has not been dropped on purpose, it's just the lack of a 10.4 build and test system.

Tim I am so confused. Supposedly having bellsouth is supposed to provide me with a free ftp. When I call them, 9 out of to didn't know what an ftp was, and the one that did freaked out when I used the"M"word...Mac. Startlogic referred me to filezilla. I downloaded the only version that is available for Mac intells. The icon shows up on my desktop, but I don.t know what to do with it. I am gettinng web design jobs, and would like the clients to see their sites via this route. What do I do? I'm beyond embarrased being that I work on so many apps, but can't solve this problem. Can you help me, or am I a lost case?

Mari
