Re: Broken client-missing-argument-to cwd

Your client sends a CWD command without argument. According to RFC 959 an argument to CWD is mandatory.

Please contact your client vendor for further assistance.

Re: clearer error message for wrong credentials?

The message comes straight from the server and could have any number of reasons. It would be misleading to display a different error instead.

Re: Failed to open URL, Vivaldi browser

It looks like your browser isn't registered properly as URL handler for http:// and https:// links.

Try reinstalling your browser (proper install, don't use "portable" packages) and check the Default apps page in Windows' Settings.

Re: Trojan:Win32/Conteban.B!ml

It's a false-positive. Note the "!ml" suffix denoting machine learning, it's a deeply flawed technology producing many false-positives. AV vendors intentionally use technologies causing many false-positives in order to give their customers a warm and fuzzy feeling of being protected. Actual malware ...

Re: Restore Transferred File to Binary

You can change how extensionless files are transferred in the settings of FileZilla. Line-ending conversion is lossy, there is generally no way to undo conversion if accidentally transferred binary data as ASCII. You would need to try every single possible combination CR, LF, CRLF for every occurace...

Re: failed to retrive directory listings

Your command reply is malformed. Please study RFC 959 in detail. Also, instead of LIST, you should implement support for MLSD as defined in RFC 3659.

Re: Security Requirement Questions

Unless a user explicitly selects an insecure protocol, FileZilla asks for confirmation before using an insecure connection. Files are transferred as-is. FileZilla does not care what is in a file and what happens to it on the destination. To enforce compliance to pointless and arbitrary regulations, ...
