Re: Fastest home cloud storage

Yes, assuming pings are reasonable and there's no packet loss you can easily saturate gigabit links with FileZilla. Note that for this to work the server must have configured a sufficiently large TCP advertised receive Window that's at least as big as the bandwidth-delay product.

Re: Issue Connecting Filezilla to bulk upload Documents from Ghana Network

You need to update to the most recent version of FileZilla, old versions are not supported.

Re: New Version Pop-Up even when "never" selected

Currently working on a great new feature where FileZilla will simply know based on the elapsed time that some unknown new version is available even if checking is disabled.

Re: "Preserve timestamps of transferred files" option not working correctly

Yup, that's a violation of REQ-5 from RFC 5382:
If a NAT cannot determine whether the endpoints of a TCP connection are active, it MAY abandon the session if it has been idle for some time. In such cases, the value of the "established connection idle-timeout" MUST NOT be less than 2 hours 4 minutes.

Re: Easy checklist

Setting up an FTP server with FileZilla Server is quite straightforward: After installing, all you need to do is to create at least one user and to configure the networking settings due to using a router, see our Network Configuration guide for instructions. You can test your configuration on https://ftptest.net/

Re: Can't Connect to Anything :| Fails after command: Command: AUTH TLS

If it's just a weak cipher issue there would be an error message about this. Getting no response at all typically means firewall.

Re: Save password til the end of FileZilla session

Every time a new connection is established, the client needs to authenticate with the server. If the server requires 2FA, then you need to enter the second factor. No way around this.

Re: New Update giving me this error

Please make sure you are using the very latest version. After having done so, which version are you using?

Re: Extremely slow download speeds on new version?!

Cannot reproduce. There are no functional changes between the current and the previous version that could possibly cause such speed differences.

Are you by chance using some faulty firewall or AV product that slows down the new version?

Re: Can't Connect to Anything :| Fails after command: Command: AUTH TLS

Failure to receive a reply to the AUTH command is almost always the result of a malicious firewall actively sabotaging the connection.

Can you ping the server from the command-line?

Re: Save password til the end of FileZilla session

That's the whole point of two-factor authentication, to be as annoying as possible.
