Re: 0.9.38 Can't connect to interface

I upgraded to 0.9.38 too. I'm using a Windows Server 2003 machine. FileZilla Server, after installing 0.9.38, always shows "Connected, waiting for authentication" and never goes up. Analyzing the logs, it seems to always try to connect with IPv6 (not IPv4). I stopped the FileZilla Server 0.9.38 ser...

Re: 0.9.38 Can't connect to interface

I had the same problem. Failed to create listen socket for admin interface on port 14147 for IPv6, the IPv6 admin interface has been disabled. FileZilla Server version 0.9.38 beta started Initializing Server. Creating listen socket on port 21... Failed to create listen socket on port 21 for IPv6 It ...

Re: "http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php" shows 127.0.0.1

boco wrote:Why? http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php:21 is not a valid address. Besides from a syntax error, there is no service listening there. The valid IP grab is at http://ip.filezilla-project.org:80/ip.php.
Thats the question. It a good place to start looking for answers.

boco wrote:http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php:21 is not valid. I guess FZ Server falls back to Default in this case. Same thing as above.
Maybe it's time to revisit the FZ code. My guess is there is a bug with the listening port algorithm.

In any case It works for me, do as you please!

Re: "http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php" shows 127.0.0.1

After much fiddling around with all the different setups (with no success) I found the answer. All I did was add the listening port after my domain name in passive mode settings. example.com:21 works! example.com does not work. http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php:21 works, http://ip.filezilla-pro...

Re: check if filezilla using vpn

Hi All My first time here ! How do I know if filezilla is using the vpn client installed on my machine ? Sorry for the noob question  If you are logged on to a "virtual private network" you use the private network IP of the FTP server. If you have your FTP client using the Internet IP of the ...

Re: "http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php" shows 127.0.0.1

That's because you have a router (or a firewall along the way) which tampers with your FTP traffic (it's switching IPs, and sux at this!). Usually these devices assume wrong configuration. that's why Default works, though it's wrong. Usually switching to FTPES or using an FTP port other than 21 rem...

Re: "http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php" shows 127.0.0.1

It will reveal the correct IP only to FileZilla products to prevent third-party abuse. In other words: You see 127.0.0.1 because your browser is neither FileZilla nor FileZilla Server. Thats fine, but it doesn't work on my server passive setup. The only thing that works is "default". 18:07:32 Comma...

"http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php" shows 127.0.0.1

When accessing "http://ip.filezilla-project.org/ip.php" from the web browser on my server, where Filezilla server resides, I get 127.0.0.1. the server is on a VM behind a nats router. When I access that address from my home network it downloads a file called "ip.php". After opening it reads 127.0.0....

Le'Weird is all i got to say on this one. After being up and running for only a day or two the server will stop seeing connections with only one exception, the only way in is via a client on the machine itself, everything else doesn't see squat! not even another machine on the local network... Re: Securing folders

We are using just the client side of filezilla and our it has set up groups to login and we wondered if there is a way to lock the files in the groups so that not everyone in that group can view it. You could encrypt the files using password, with most any archive solution, before uploading to serv...

Truly antique servers. Recommended course of action is to upgrade to a modern server. Not to be offensive, but I'm truly appalled by this response. Did you even think that upgrading the server was not an option? It's not my FTP server. If you're not going to post something helpful, please don't pos...
