Re: fault with installation

The provided binaries from here will not work. I am on Mint 19.2, and still I can only use 3.42.1. Mint 17.3 probably misses a lot of the required dependencies.

Compiling from source (including all deps) would be your only option.

Re: Doesn't support FTP over TLS

Old versions did not warn, now you are being made aware what's going on. Your login data was always at stake, with that server. The only thing you can do is demanding FTP over TLS support from your hoster (they usually run the FTP servers, too). If they don't comply, change to a hoster that does sup...

Re: FTP files not showing sorting option on browser.

FTP does not have any GUI, the page you see is completely generated by the browser. Thus, you will have to ask the maker of your browser. Please note that nearly all browser makers are currently in the process to remove FTP support completely . You will need to use an FTP client proper (like FileZil...

Re: Connection hangs at the "LIST" command

Looks like it is running in a Hyper-V Virtual Machine, or in Microsoft's new Sandbox feature (essentially the same). The log shows 11 matches. If FileZilla does not display anything in lists, check that you didn't enable directory listing filters by accident. Check in menu View - Directory listing f...

Yep, AFAIK, simply PEM, radix64 (aka base64) encoded.

Must be something peculiar about the current commercial certificate. Maybe a ciphersuite OpenSSL does not like? (The included libs are OpenSSL ver 1.0.2k)

Re: New Topic, but old problem? "...error:02001003..."

First, it might be helpful to test with a test certificate generated by FZ Server itself. Does that certificate fail to load as well? When generating the certificate, fill in all fields, don't leave any blank. Otherwise, the cert might not work. Are the SSL libraries included with FileZilla Server s...

Re: Junkware with FileZilla

If you refer to the automatic update from within the program, that process never uses the offer-based package, always the offer-free ones, regardless of the installer you used for the initial install. Why? Well, the automatic update is non-interactive, no way to confirm or decline offers. Thus, ther...

Re: View PNG files on Windows 10

The Windows Photo Viewer has no executable, only a DLL. The command line is: "C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" "C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer\PhotoViewer.dll",ImageView_Fullscreen %1 I could not get it to work in FileZilla, looks like it doesn't support that monster of a command line. Best ...

Re: Open my HTML File only in Notepad

It's also possible to define an override association in the FileZilla settings. Then, the association is valid for FileZilla only.

Hint: The browser will probably reset the association you made. On its next update, I guess.

Closed on request.

Re: 426 Connection closed; aborted transfer of

You need to update to the latest version of FileZilla Server before you can get further help. Actually, upgrading to the latest version is a precondition here, as only the latest version is supported. The latest FileZilla Server is 0.9.60, ATM.

There is even a Pro version with additional features which you can buy to support the project. The Pro version does not include any ads nor offers.

Re: Can FZ server allow logins via User X509 certificate?

Simple answer: You don't. 1. Browsers do NOT support FTP over TLS (FTPS) at all. They only support HTTP over TLS (HTTPS). Even the very basic support for plain FTP in Browsers is about to be removed. 2. FTP and HTTP are independent services and protocols. 3. FileZilla Server does not support client ...

Re: 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible. Error:Critical error: Could not connect to server

You need to get in touch with your hosting support immediately. The problem is 100% on the server. Through either a wrong configuration (access rights) or a filesystem problem, your user's home directory cannot be loaded. That's something they have to fix.

Re: "Connecting to" and "Connected to" Issue

FileZilla's SFTP support is managed by a modified PuTTY component (psftp). Although being modified, it is still PuTTY and shares the configuration. For that reason, it can make use of PuTTY's Pageant, and things stored there can be used by FileZilla.

Re: Too many / too frequent updates

Could I edit fzdefaults.xml to disable auto-updates? Of course. It's a simple switch. An example template of an fzdefaults.xml file is in the docs subdirectory inside FileZilla's installation directory. However, please note that disabling updates that way will have a side effect - all controls in t...
