Re: Tricked into installing Chromium. Won't uninstall. Here's How-To Uninstall (Win10)

botg , thanks for your reply. I would highly suggest the FileZilla team stops normal operations immediately, to test this on a VM. Trust takes 10 years to build, and 10 seconds to lose. Watch what Chromium does, how it runs (why all the processes and CPU usage?), and then try to uninstall. If this ...

Re: Chromium installed without consent. Cannot uninstall. Win10.

To remove this garbage, malware-infested, uninstall-lacking, Chromium from the options from "Open with..." do the following: Launch Registry Editor (Windows+R, type: regedit and press ENTER) Go to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts Edit -> Find (o...

Re: Chromium installed without consent. Cannot uninstall. Win10.

So if you delete the uninst.exe folder, and the try to run uninstall from the GUI, it will intelligently realize it's already gone, and ask you to remove it from the list.

Re: Chromium installed without consent. Cannot uninstall. Win10.

So, after more time investigating, it appears that Chromium installed its uninstall program to this location: C:\Users\<YOURNAME>\AppData\Local\{0271342D-26D9-5895-4B41-7D7D6F2981E5} With a helpful: C:\Users\<YOURNAME>\AppData\Local\{0271342D-26D9-5895-4B41-7D7D6F2981E5}\HowToRemove The document the...

Re: Chromium installed without consent. Cannot uninstall. Win10.

To help other uninstall software that refuses to uninstall: 1. You can find out where it is installed. Right click the shortcut, and click on "Open file location". E.g. C:\Users\<YOUR_NAME>\AppData\Local\chromium 2.Ctrl+Alt+Del - Task Manager - Startup tab: Disable all of the Chromium listings (2 fo...

Tricked into installing Chromium. Won't uninstall. Here's How-To Uninstall (Win10)

I've used FileZilla for years, and installed it on a new laptop too quickly, so I quickly skipped by a screen (a wall of text) that was telling me it would install Chromium... shocked as the screen disappeared, I tried to stop it, but it was already done. I uninstalled FileZilla immediately, but thi...

"File has changed" is broken

This dialog pops up when I don't want it. Every single time -- which really hammers it home. Then it incorrectly tells me that the file is being edited, when it's not. It takes on the order of seconds to appear -- I can literally select the file, select upload, and confirm overwrite easily in this t...

Re: forum signature disappeared

This board is powered by phpBB. It's actually easily customizable. Easier than you'd think. But the pain in the ass is making it maintain your changes when you want to reinstall or upgrade. We used to use it for the boards on Xona.com before it was Xona Games. For the record, everyone knows me as th...

Re: editing and opening HTML files from the client

I see, and that makes total sense. How does a user tell FileZilla that editing is completed? Perhaps it shouldn't step in for this, since other programs do not, and it's normally up to the user to know if they are editing the same file twice. FileZilla, on the other hand, can do something useful sti...

Re: forum signature disappeared

Sure. I apologize. Thanks for answering my request. A private message stating a "Board warning issued" was not required. Why not merely state the restrictions in the signature editor? I would have complied to any restrictions mentioned. The only one mentioned is the 255 character limit. It's hard to...

forum signature disappeared

My apologies, but there is no other place to post this. My signature just disappeared for no reason. In the editor, it says nothing about any restrictions other than 255 char limit. Am I breaking any rules? If so, it would be nice to know. I believe they should be listed in the signature editor, so ...
