Re: Filezilla taking minutes to open

That's my 1st thought too, and it's not just launching filezilla client, it's also switching to a different local source folder. it might be a clue as to why it takes a while to launch the client as it needs to read the local home folder before showing the folder list. Even without an A/V installed ...

Re: Can FX Client be forced to use a specific NIC?

let's not go overboard here, all we're talking is a dropdown menu listing all the nics in the computer in the programs preferences, choose one and filezilla can add a temporary route itself in the os for this to work. you've got all you need at hand, the ip of the server, the user will provide the n...

Re: Can FX Client be forced to use a specific NIC?

FileZilla runs on the application layer and thus has no access to your physical NICs nor its drivers, so how should such functionality be implemented? well if in the application layer you don't have access to that , maybe you need to make an under layer to give you access to it. think about it, all...

Re: Can FX Client be forced to use a specific NIC?

its like talking in circles. problem with routes is, if they change ip, i'll never know until i try to use the ftp again. then it becomes an annoyance of having to add another route to that ip and route management is beyond what we want to do here. this feature is needed to work for ALL ftp sites, d...

Re: Can FX Client be forced to use a specific NIC?

+1

in today's world of multiple nics in 1 machine and multiple networks, this is needed.

forget routing tables, nobody wants to learn that. we're normal users not system admins.

Re: fzshellext.dll removed by norton

Considering almost all new machines from hp/acer/dell etc come with some form of norton antivirus product installed, and that the virus defs need to be updated before installing filezilla, i think it would be best if the devs here collaborated with symantec to allow fillezilla to work on everyone's...

Re: speed limit doesn't work right

yes i understand that, but i think you're missing my point. full speed it works fine, setting a speed limit, not so much. could there be a bug in the code that handles the speed limiting? idk but i know one thing, i would much rather have a global speed limit than per connection. smaller connections...

Re: speed limit doesn't work right

The speed can be held firmly at 84KB/s when there's no speed limit.

i'm setting this way below that at 60KB/s , but the speed isn't constant and hard to reach in the server's interface.

the client isn't downloading anything else.

Re: Mac Filezilla - No program has been associated on your s

don't pass the ball back to the user, fix it. We don't need an explanation we need a fix. Pretty simple, check what platform the program is running on at launch then if windows check for other verbs. Also let ppl know of the filetypes associations in prog's settings, show the user how to add it, giv...

Re: Mac Filezilla - No program has been associated on your s

same problem with zipfiles on windows, i can't open/edit them from fillezilla. the checkbox "inherit from os" in filetypes is checked and it should be working. So it looks like this is a bug in filezilla for both platforms and users shouldnt have to associate files manually. Please fix thi...
