They are saying it is because too many ports need to be open and this poses a security risk.

It worked fine using FTP but their server sometimes prevents FTP access when my dynamic IP address changes, something else I find a bit bizarre.

That is just what I thought but they seem to think otherwise but cannot give me a logical reason why.

My host has forced everyone to use SFTP rather than plain FTP, I don't have an issue with that but I am only able to access the root dir from within the Site Manager. Once you have set up your main root FTP account, setting up for addons is quite easy. Make a duplicate of the main account, it will save you having to enter host, password etc. In the advanced tab, change the local and remote directories to reflect the location of the addon files. Opening Failed
Since installing the latest update, I get an 'Opening Failed' dialogue box appearing each time I open a file even though the files are opening normally.
