Re: e-mail notification

Intantaneous in terms on installation after "changes" on the system have been made. I refer, easy to deploy over the time in multiple machines. Oh I see. Well if you plan on using FLA at all, keep me in the loop as I may be able to help you with what you are attempting to do. I am working on possib...

This method could be instantaneous(an email sent within a couple of seconds) depending on how often you set the analyzer to analyze the log file. But how quick do you need the email sent? Is it that time critical?

Re: installation issues... service or not?

Use port range 50000-50100, make 50000 the listening port, don't use the default port of 21. Try that and report back.

Re: e-mail notification

You can check out FileZilla Log Analyzer(see stickies) and enhance it(its open source) to do what you want it to do as it parses the log files generated by the server and knows when transfers are completed. You may want to use it for the parsing portion of your program as there is a lot to parse thr...

Re: Exclusion in autobahn settings

True, but you chose to address only one concern. The logs are really the sticking point. And the fact that eventually, they may just crack the password. Especially with many accounts on the server. Let's turn the issue around: why are you so keen on killing the feature? -FbN If the logs are getting...

Re: Windows firewall stops external access to my FTP server

Make sure the server is listening on port 50000 rather than 21. You may have to forward ports on your router for this to work as well(forward ports 50000 - 50100).

Use a custom port range. Change it to something high, like 50000-50100 or something.

Re: Windows firewall stops external access to my FTP server

You can't choose a port range via GUI but it is possible to do via command line. Google for how to do this or search these forums as this has been answered before.

Re: Directory List Error

How? So I am going to assume you are using FileZilla client. When you create a new site there is a URL address and port you specify. So what I suggest to you is change the port range and listening port on your server and then plug in the new listening port in the port field when connecting to it fr...

Re: Allowing end-users to upload?

So your clients are using an ordinary web browser? I am no expert in that area so I won't be able to tell you how your clients can upload to it. My recommendation is to have them download, install and use FileZilla client. To upload with FileZilla client the client merely needs to navigate to the ta...

Have you been able to connect to your server from another external location other than your college?

Re: Allowing end-users to upload?

Well, how do you have it set up currently? Does each person have their own username/login? What I do is create a group and specify permissions for the group so later on I can simply add new users and make them a part of that group rather than specifying permissions for each user individually.

[The IP address or hostname of the machine you have installed FileZilla Server on. Thanks. Now, I use currently a 192.x.y.z addressing system. Internally, I should then have no problem addressing the Filezilla Server. However, what about from outside the building - ex from a client site or someone ...

Re: FileZilla Log Analyzer Now Released!

Ok guys, just released the new version(1.03 alpha) available here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/fla/ . The new release consists of a handful of bug fixes so I recommend anyone using the older version of FLA to download it. I have thrown in some samples and screen shots to better illustrate what t...
