Re: FTP'ing Compressed Folders?

A "Compressed Folder" is not a folder (directory) at all. It's a data archive file. It is a .zip file like the kind you might use with WinZip. Windows XP and Vista try to make the user think that .zip files are interacted with just like a folder, but they're not really true folders at all.

Re: FTP host address

In FileZilla Client, the host address is the IP address or domain name of the remote FTP server.

Not sure what you mean.

Works for me here, though.

Re: Filezilla Client through isa server 20006

No, you'll need to set ISA Server to allow SSL connections on every port that FileZilla Client might use. That's 21 as well as the ports you've specified in your passive range. You'll also have to configure a passive range in FileZilla because the default is to use any available port. Active FTP wil...

Re: QuickConnect/History

~ is a shortcut for "current user's home directory". You could drop to a terminal shell and type "cd ~/.filezilla" or enter ~/.filezilla in the address bar of your file manager.

Re: Does/can FileZilla take advanced of TCP Send Buffer Scaling?

It's just a white paper, not a technical review. I'm sure you could contact the authors and request information. In any case, I should think much of the implementation for this would be in wxWidgets, not FileZilla (although I know the socket class has been rewritten). Also, it's important to keep in...

Re: How to copy with attributes?

Not supported. The command (SITE UMASK <octal code>) is not in the FTP RFC, so it is not and will likely not be implemented. There's a draft spec (https://datatracker.ietf.org/drafts/draft-somers-ftp-mfxx/) but it's not widely implemented in this fashion. See also: http://trac.filezilla-project.org/...

Re: QuickConnect/History

More to the point, it probably avoids "hidden" files and directories. And file or directory that begins with a period is hidden.

Re: Spped Limit settings

That depends entirely on the quantity of traffic and level of service you wish to provide for your website, home users, and ftp site. The maximum I'd personally set the ftp site for is 80% of the bandwidth, and that's if I didn't really care if the website was slow or the other users complained that...

Re: sftp fails at key exchange

FileZilla uses PuTTY's code for SFTP transfers. Try using psftp.exe. If the error persists, the bug is with PuTTY:

Re: Command line / script usage?

Use the MGET (multi-get) command. Add -i to the command line to turn off interactive prompts that appear with the mget and mput commands. C:\>ftp --help Transfers files to and from a computer running an FTP server service (sometimes called a daemon). Ftp can be used interactively. FTP [-v] [-d] [-i]...

Re: Speed help.

Hi, I have a quick question. I have a filezilla install at my house running on my 5mbit up fiber line. I use it to transfer files between my house and university, about 15 miles apart. I can transfer one file at about 150kb/s but not more, or I can transfer 6 files at the same time at 150kb/s each....

Re: Running on Win Server 2008 under separate user account?

The server needs read/write/modify access to the .xml files located at the install location of FileZilla Server. Unfortunately, the server doesn't use %appdata%. The server also needs appropriate access to the file system for directories that are served. Make sure the user account has the "log on as...
