Folders names with an asterisk don't work

Hello, Folders that have an asterisk in the name don't seem to show up properly. Reproduce: 1.) Create a folder with the name "test *", you'll see that it was created and shows up properly. 2.) Refresh the directory listing and you'll notice that "test *" now shows up as "test ", the asterisk was st...

Re: FileZilla client showing the wrong year

Difficult to fix. Wouldn't it be possible to instead upgrade to a server that supports the superior MLSD command? There aren't many good choices for a *nix environment, I'm afraid. vsftpd is, by far, the best I've come across, even though it does lack MLSD support. Since it's difficult to fix, and ...

Re: FileZilla client showing the wrong year

If you enable "show raw directory listings" in the settings dialog of FileZilla, what is being displayed there and what exactly is displayed in the file list instead? I set my local client date back to November 30th to reproduce this, since it already passed. The raw listing shows the following: 15...

FileZilla client showing the wrong year

Hello, I'm using vsftpd 3.0.2 as the server and the latest version of FileZilla Client. It seems on the last day of certain months (one of them being November), that any file modified or created on a server with a timezone that hits the 1st of the month (right at 00:00) before the client, will start...

Certificate fingerprints

Hello,

Currently, the certificate fingerprints only show in MD5 and SHA-1. Those algorithms aren't exactly holding up very well, maybe you could replace them with SHA-256 and SHA-512? Or, at the very least, I think adding them in addition to the others, would be good.

Thanks

I don't know of any hosts that have them. I was just testing locally if FileZilla Client would negotiate with a server using such insecure methods, and it does.

Insecure SSL/TLS options being allowed

Hello,

There are a few insecure server configurations that are still being allowed in FileZilla Client.

- 512-1024-bit certificates are still being accepted.
- 512-1024-bit DH parameters are still being accepted.
- Certificates with MD5-based signatures are still being accepted.

Re: filezilla forgot passwords

There was a dialog, you were prompted. That's a bit rude. I also have suffered the fate of loosing over 20 passwords. I used the quickconnect once and read the message prompt and interpreted it as whether or not I wanted this particular password saved to which I answered no. Now all passwords have ...

SSL/TLS certificate information

Hello,

Not sure if this was intended, but the signature algorithm is missing from the certificate details once a certificate has been accepted. It only appears to show on the initial dialog prompt.

Most FTP clients I've seen don't support it. I tested several dozen different ones awhile back and only 5 supported it.

Re: Connecting over LAN to FileZilla Server with SSL/TLS

Before you ask: No, browser cannot use FTP over TLS, either? Firefox has the FireFTP extension, this one can. FireFTP doesn't even support session reuse. Not sure about most servers, but vsftpd (by default) doesn't even allow data connections to be made without it. http://scarybeastsecurity.blogspo...

Re: Can't connect to Windows Server 2012 (IIS 8) FTP when us

Microsoft has a long and proud history of breaking standards, especially when it comes to crypto. This particular problem has been known to them for years now, they just haven't patched it yet.

It's been discussed in detail on the TLS mailing list.

Directory listings with quotation marks fail

Hello, Is anyone else able to reproduce this problem? 1.) Create a directory with quotation marks in it ex. "testing" 2.) Go into the directory, then back out and go in again, refresh the listing.
