No, direct server-to-server connections and transfers are not possible.

Re: Norton AV reports FileZilla as virus, cannot use!

There are additional download options to choose from on the download page. All downloads on the advanced download page are bundle-free. They will not remove the detection because they act fully intentional. The offer-based installer contains no malware, but the AV software detects the offer as PUP (...

Re: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted when trying to move file

The message means that FTP over TLS (encryption) simply isn't supported by the server.

Re: FTP Login?

So, you want to create and test a website on your local machine? You don't need FTP for that, at all. Everything can be just copied locally. Please note that the FTP server in XAMPP is not supported here. Even if it says "FileZilla Server", it is part of a third-party distribution and needs to be su...

Re: questions

FileZilla always displays that dialog if the certificate is unknown. As it does not use the certificate store of the OS, every certificate, that you did not trust permanently earlier, is presented as unknown for you to confirm. Once you decided to trust it permanently (by checking the checkbox), the...

Re: Not sure where to submit an idea

Would it be possible to actually reserve the space before starting to write? As many Torrent clients do it, it must be possible.

Re: add a button with "upload", "download"

1. It's a matter of taste. There are multiple ways of transferring, you just need to get used to it. 2. That if correct behavior. The article Data Type covers it nicely. In a nutshell: Line ending conversion is necessary. IF you don't want anything to be converted, use pure Binary (TYPE I) transfers.

Re: Not sure where to submit an idea

FileZilla has a feature to "Preallocate space before downloading". Wouldn't that catch it @botg?

Re: Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead

That software is a known troublemaker, it actually prevents a lot of things from working correctly. To make matters worse, it tends to not tell the user about what is does.

Re: Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead

Where is that client machine located? If in the same LAN as the server is, you need to use the private LAN IP to connect.

Re: Won't load directories

Do you have a log from the actual FTP client you are using? Warning: The entered address does not resolve to an IPv6 address. That warning means that either you do not have IPv6 access to the public net (unfortunately, many still don't have), or the URL you use doesn't have a DNS AAAA record (only a...

Re: File transfer

The external site simply does not allow MP3 files (files with .mp3 extension). This is a site policy and there's nothing you can do.

For transferring, rename the file to have a different extension. However, you violate their policies that way, and the file will be possibly removed.

Re: Upload changed files automatically, no prompt

The prompts are here to stay. That has been said numerous times. Impossible to detect when an external editor has really finished saving. Other programs guesstimate and thus will be prone to data corruption, eventually. We know this creates inconvenience, but isn't the health of your data more impor...

Re: is the FileZilla XML - file sufficient (in every case) to start a connection to the server!?

You will get away with the configuration directory in most cases, except for SFTP, where trusted host keys might be stored externally.
