Re: adding users from the command line .. windows XP pro sp3

You can edit FileZilla Server.xml directly and afterwards call "FileZilla Server.exe" /reload-config

Re: Account creation

FZ Server stores all configuration data, including user accounts, in XML files in the program directory. You can modify the XML files directly and then execute "Filezilla Server.exe" /reload-config to force the server to reload.

Re: editing settings with a webpage

you probably have to have php open the XML setting file locally (if the server the web page is running is on the local machine) or get access to the file (a few ways to do this) and make changes from there.

you can then run a batch script (if web server on local machine) to reload the settings ("[...]\FileZilla Server\FileZilla server.exe" -reload-config the settings.

reload filezilla through php

Hi, (sorry for my english but I’m french)
I’ve created a php code who writes “FileZilla server.xml” and reload the server but the reloading doesn’t work!
The code is like:

Code: Select all

system('"C:\Program Files\FileZilla Server\FileZilla server.exe" -reload-config');
I’ve tried with almost every things:

Double/simple backslash in the path.
-reload-config, /reload-config.
With and without space between path and “-reload-config”.
Using return variable to check if it return an error (just return “ 1 “).
And also with exec() and passthru()… still not working…

Locally([“path” –reload-config] written directly in command window) it works well, but not through php, there is the popup command window that opens and closes quickly, but filezilla doesn’t take changes .
I’ve test with ping command like :

Code: Select all

system('”ping www.google.fr”', $callback);
echo $callback;
It works well, on the server the popup command window is blank but it returns the ping result correctly on webpage.

Thanks for help me.

EDIT : I'm running a 0.9.25.beta of FZ on a Win XP Pro (original)

You don't 'convert', just calculate the MD5 hash of the password.
dell wrote:also, what php code would i use to create/edit the user?
The XML file is a plain text file and can be modified as such. After that call the Filezilla Server.exe with /reload-config .

Re: Fillezilla XML reload question

Hello everybody

I'm interesting in configuration FileZilla Server by a PHP script. I manage adding a user in the XML config-file with my own code:
http://charlesprost.free.fr/serveur/filezilla.rar
and this page helps me to reconfigure the server while it is running:
http://forum.filezilla-project.org/view ... 340&p=7540
and it works

But I was wondering, if we can remotely configure FileZilla Server with the FileZilla Server Interface, it's because FileZillaServerInterface doesn't modify the xml itself. It's surely because the server does it when the Interface controls it by the socket connection (that we can access from Internet with proper routing)

So can we use the socket connection with PHP to command the server like the FileZillaServer Interface ?
I'm interesting in these functions:
http://fr3.php.net/manual/en/function.socket-create.php
http://fr.php.net/socket_set_option
http://fr.php.net/socket_sendto

that I found here : http://www.hackernotcracker.com/2006-04 ... cript.html
What command have I to send to manage the server (connection with password, change configuration of user) ?

PS:I'm not a coder, so I can't understand the source file of FileZillaServer, I only learn PHP for 3 weeks (so my code may have lack of security :S)
And sorry for my english I'm French ;)

You could write your own scripts that directly modifies FileZilla Server.xml and afterwards calls "FileZilla Server.exe" /reload-config

Fillezilla XML reload question

Hello,

I'm having a quick question about reloading the XML configuration.

Let's assume a client is uploading to Filezilla Server at a given time. While uploads are occurring, if I send PHP to invoke the configuration file reloading, the uploads will stop while Filezilla reloads the config?

This is surely a stupid question but I would like to be sure of this.

Thank you for your help.

Re: XML File Amendments Problem

Then you didn't fully close the program.

Which you don't have to do anyhow thanks to /reload-config

Re: -reload-config

OK, made changes to the XML, then executed "Filezilla Server.exe" /reload-config. As I expected, it works. My changes are reflected in the settings.

Windows requires double quotes ("), and parameters mustn't be included in the quotes.

You could use breakpoints to debug your program, there must be some error message or -value returned (like 'file not found').

Re: -reload-config

I do not get any errors when running my program. It completes like it should. If I go into the Admin app for the server and create a new user, all the changes my program made to FileZilla Server.xml are lost. I am guessing this is because they where not there when FileZilla added the new users, and it overwrote the file.

Re: -reload-config

I am rather new to c#. How can I capture the error message? I have confirmed the changes are being made to the XML file. Thanks.
