Ah thanks, I only have experience of Linux servers so never had that issue.

I hadn't realised that some servers report bogus settings as I have always had reliable settings.
Is that the case on many servers?

What are the permissions set to, for the directory containing the file?

Perhaps if you included some error messages and gave us some information about what is failing, the rest of may be able to offer some advice.

If this is a process you are likely to repeat in the future, create the empty directory structure on a local machine and then FTP them all up at once.

What I can't get my inexperienced brain round I why would it be just the close/confirmation signals that were being lost?
By the same token, if the router/firewall was blocking them, I thought it would block all of them rather than a random selection.

Something is keeping the connections open, if not keep alive commands then what?

I have keep alive turned off in Filzilla.

I have tried it with the router and Windows firewalls both on and off and that makes no difference, could it be the firewall on the server?

I suspect that the paths to the pictures point to your local computer.
