just getting to grips with filezilla and just wondering about a few general things.

whats the difference between the client and the server? i.e. what do each of them do?

can filezilla be used to send files from my computer a friends computer at a different location? if so how do you do such a thing?

thanks for any help!

A server provides files or allows files to be uploaded to it.
With a client you can then download the files or upload them to the server.

If you want to transfer files between two computers, one has to be server, the other has to be client.

how would you go about setting up such a system as in one being the server and the other being the client?

i'm on a dialup so would not work too good as a server but what i do

my ips gives me 5 meg of freespace so i just upload to my site and give them the url and they can download.(programs and such)
or if just pictures i make a quick web page and upload them to it and then send the e-mail to all with that url in it. so i only have to upload once and i'm not sending by CC ;-)

if you go as a server then you would have to be online when they would want to download
