Hi,
This morning I tried opening 3.3.0.1 as usual; the window appeared, but no buttons, etc., responded. Process Explorer showed FileZilla using 100% of CPU. I couldn't kill the process in Task Manager or Process Explorer and had to do a reset.
I tried uninstalling and falling back to 3.2.7.1, which behaved the same way.
I tried renaming the Application Data\FileZilla settings directory to force new settings, but it didn't help.
This is a Windows 2000 SP4 system. It has the Comodo firewall and Avira free AV (nothing newly installed). The first time the problem occurred, Firefox, Thunderbird, and Winword were open.
Apologies if this has been answered before. I looked back in messages several weeks.

Did you yet try a reboot or a reinstall?

Re: FileZilla sudden death
Thanks, yes. I also tried disabling the AV and removing the FW rules. A FW notice showed that FileZilla was able to phone home before dying.

Re: FileZilla sudden death
On a hunch, I was able to get it working by setting
<Setting name="Update Check" type="number">0</Setting>
in filezilla.xml. Maybe that will do.
