Suggestion FileZilla (ftp-client)

#1 Post by lanos » 2004-04-18 10:26

Filezilla look good but is not perfect ;)

I use Leechftp since 4 years, but I must use another ftp-client cause Leechftp has sometimes trouble with resuming (APPE) uploads. Is a Bug in Leechftp and the development is stopped (Bitbeamer is the comercial follower and the best ftp-client I used).

Some things that must include in Filezilla

1. Compare directorys (very important, I was really wondered that this feature is not available in FileZilla 2.*)

2. Drag and Drop in Queue (handling is really awefull for use a ratio-server, if I like 1 file upload 1 file download 1 file upload ... is not possible first uploads will queued and than downloads - or reverse)

3. Add Bookmark with one click (when I connected a server)

4. Enable sound by failure or up/download

Last but not Least:
FileZilla looks like CuteFTP 4.* and cost nothing, Filezilla is really great and when some things are fixed this client could be one of the best.
Leechftp multithreat handling is better as in Filezilla (reuse when finished, not laborious to setup count of threats, throttle speed, ...)

Thanks for your work!
