missing "dekstop" button in directory list?

#1 Post by oni » 2005-11-22 13:03

HI!
My first post here. Just wanted to add to this great open ftp application.

I often have clients looking for a good (and free) ftp-application. Looking at filezilla I find just 1 thing missing....

A "desktop" button/list-item. Most unknowing computer users cant locate the desktop folder on the C-drive. And "C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Desktop" is a long way to explain. Specially if they have more then 1 user on the system.

Hope i can find this feature in the next release :D

i second this...

is there any work around, like a plugin or somethign that adds it?

i love filezilla but oni is right, naviagating to that directory is a pain in the ass, there should definitely be a desktop button.

also the interface could really get snazzed up a bit. it's a great product with tons of features but i think the project would really blossom if the interface got a face lift.

am i missing something?
in site manager ( leftmost icon in toolbar)
for the user click "advanced"
and specify the default and remote directory

with that when i start filezilla it shows my folder on the left and right side and i just transfer ;-D

from the documentation
When you connect to a site, FileZilla switches both the local and the remote directory to the ones you have entered here.
