Change chmod settings

#1 Post by chrissmit » 2010-06-15 06:55

Hi all,

Why is it that changing Chmod settings does not always work with FZ?
I sometimes need to change website directories to 777, but they always jump back to 755, without an error message...

thx
Chris

Setting permissions is not covered by the FTP specifications, so unexpected things can happen if trying to change permissions.

(SITE) CHMOD is not an official FTP command and thus not guaranteed to work. This is an unsupported feature in FileZilla.

Watch the reply to the SITE CHMOD commands. Note that if there is no error, it's entirely a server problem.
