Revamped logo/icon

#1 Post by andreas » 2006-02-04 02:06

Hi, in a whim of inspiration and enthusiasm I created my own little version of the filezilla logo.

An export in png format can be found here: http://www.sjedu.no/stuff/filezilla/Filezilla2.png (1600x1600, ~0.9MB)

And the source XCF file for Gimp can be found here: http://www.sjedu.no/stuff/filezilla/Filezilla2.xcf (~3.8MB)

You can consider this public domain and you can do what you want with it :)

Kind regards and thanks for a great client,
Andreas Ravnestad

Nice one, andreas. If you feel like it, read this post for more information on creating even more icons for FZ3, the next version of the FZ client.

wow, we must have been thinking the same thing. I'm a design student and I use Filezilla every day so I'm poor, but I wanted to give back to the community. So here's my take on teh FZ logo.

the shape in blue is taken from the shape between FZ. It's kindof abstracted in the orange space.

I have ico files built (I'm not sure how to combine the different resolutions), and I have vector files as well.

and a 2 color version

I posted this in the other thread but didn't get any feedback so I thought that noone looks there because it's the dev folder. So, here it is again.

It's not really supposed to be an F or a Z. I's an abstract on the negative space between the F and Z. It's a symbolic shape that conveys a sense of movement. If you look at it longer you'll see what looks a bit like the airpocket created by a fastmoving Indycar or Rocket moving up and to the left.
