I had a client update their FTP Server and now I can't access their FTP through filezilla, but I can get into it using Firefox. Is this a server issue and if so what should i ask of them because they appear to be in the dark about settings on their end.

The FTP server seems to be down/unavailable. You must call server support to have it fixed. Note that the HTTP (web-)server is independent from the FTP one, so it is still running.

I don't understand. The ftp is still running, of course it is I can access it from the web. What is unavailable or not running? What do I tell the server admin person? They are probably not as savy as you would think...meaning they probably don't know what they are doing.

A web server and an FTP server are two different servers that are totally independent. One can be down while the other is up.
