Which FTP server software (product and version) is the server running?

Did this ever get resolved? I was using version 3.9.06 just fine with a specific site for years now and with the introduction of 3.10.0.1 I get this error message. I don't have control over activities at the site, so I need to know how I get back to working correctly on my own end with Filezilla.

Thanks for any insights you can offer.

This usually happens if the server in question does not support secure cryptographic algorithms.

That server is probably running RHEL/CentOS, they still ship out that version of vsFTPd to this very day, it's a version from 2009 with only some of the bugs backported. vsFTPd only included a single cipher "DES-CBC3-SHA" as the default back then, FileZilla Client no longer supports it.

I have no doubt this is something that could be done better on the Server side, but, that said, I have no option to fix that side of things. So, I would actually find it preferable to turn off this security conversation on the filezilla side if possible. Is it possible?

Right now my only other option is to keep an old version of FZ around just so I can access this server and that seems silly.

Thanks again for any advice.

You would need to go into the Site Manager, (Ctrl+S) while in FileZilla Client, highlight the server in question and select "Only use plain FTP (insecure)", on the Encryption drop-down list.
