I don't see anything on the download pages related to the use of Filezilla with Windows 8. Should I use the same link as identified for Windows 7, or is Filezilla not yet ready for Windows 8 (which seems much like Windows 7 hiding behind an unattractive, non-intuitive, and incoherent interface, but I digress...). Thanks in advance for any input!

Windows 8 (yuck!) is not an officially supported operating system. Nevertheless, the normal Win32 build should run. Some people had a few issues regarding Drag&Drop, though.
