Yep, so I downgraded to FZ 3.9.0.6, and now everything's working smoothly again. Connecting successfully, and no longer getting warnings about server certificates. Thanks art2 for the tip.

boco's link was also helpful and it sounds like my problem was the one described in that thread, namely FZ 3.10.0.1 trying to use FTP over TLS by default and the servers I'm connecting to not being properly set up to do that. So I am planning on upgrading to 3.10.0.1 again, changing my settings to connect via plain FTP, and contacting the administrators of the servers to try to get them configured properly for FTP over TLS. All that will have to wait, though, for now I just need to get some work done.

Given how many people seem to be suddenly facing problems because of this change, I would recommend that FZ prompt the user when the FTP over TLS connection fails to ask if they want to try an insecure plain FTP connection, since that will probably work for most people. That way all of us experiencing this problem would have a very straightforward solution presented to us and could go back about our business, rather than having to search online in forums, reinstall FZ a second time in one evening, and mess about in the settings based on what we found.

This has been educational though, and thanks to everybody for the help and information they've taken the time to post here.

I am a lil down for the reason that only help we ended up getting was "get the most up-to-date version", which in this case is what definitely seems to be the problem initially.

No it isn't. You still cannot use FTP over TLS with your server. This can only be fixed by fixing the server.

I too am having the same issue after updating to 3.10.0.1 not one hour ago!!!

I can not find any safe download links to the old version and there is nowhere on the Filezilla website to download previous issues.

I have several websites to build asap - Can't someone fix this stupid bug???? Or at least revert us back to the old version until it gets sorted out?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Filezilla was working perfectly fine until the update - NOTHING else has changed, nothing on my websites, nothing on my servers, nothing to do with my log in details or ports etc.
I was using it earlier today just fine until I restarted the computer after going to work (where I was using it yesterday as well) and it updated to 3.10.0.1

I've resolved so, this is in italian but I think you can understand:

then, you make your favorite site

Also, I wrote to Netsons Server assistance (my server) and he said this:

"Thank you very much for your cooperation to resolve the problem, we are checking the current configurations of our FTP server to make it compatible with the new setting of FileZilla.
Thank you again and I am available for any eventuality.
"

The issue seem to be a compatibility issues across various server platforms.
I upgraded on a shared hosting it didn't work. However, it worked on a VPS server without making any change.

There is a simple way to fix it without downgrading. This is by changing the setting in FileZilla's "Site Manager."
I've wrote a post on the two ways you can fix the error.

1. Is by downgrading to version 3.9.0.6.

2. After upgrading to the new version 3.10.0.1, make a simple change in "Site Manager" and you're good to go.

The full post I wrote is here: <sorry, removed>

Hope this will help. :)

Having trouble in getting old versions. Fire Zilla don't supply and others seem to be rejected by my Anti Virus as they seem to be with a bundle. Any one have proper FireZilla 3.9.0.6.

And additionally no support for that old version.

[guess]Could be that a commonly used server software recently introduced a bug. Or, it could be a problem with one specific hosting company.[/guess]
