3.10.0.2 Defective
Just released, does not read files on the server, disconnects, as did 3.10.0.1.

Re: 3.10.2 Defective
There's no 3.10.2, there's 3.10.0, 3.10.0.1, 3.10.0.2 and 3.10.1
Which version are you referring to?

Re: 3.10.2 Defective
I am referring to the version known as 3.10.0.2, but have concealed its identity by omitting a zero, in order to do whatever it is that it was that I did by omitting a zero. I have found two unused zeroes and added them to my original message.

Your server is behind a firewall. This firewall isn't correctly configured for FTP over TLS. FileZilla uses FTP over TLS because your server says it supports it, which due to the firewall effectively does not.
Contact your server administrator or server hosting provider for assistance so that the configuration of the server and its firewall can be fixed.

Re: 3.10.0.2 Defective
I don't have a server, just a desktop PC. My firewall is Comodo. Earlier releases of FileZilla, such as 3.9.0.6, work properly with no adjustments to anything such as Comodo. I think that something has changed in Filezilla starting with the 3.10 series; I don't know that to be correct, it is nothing more than a supposition on my part based on my experience with FZ.
For example, when I found that 3.10.0.2 does not work for me, I reinstalled 3.9.0.6 and uploaded several files to BlueHost.
I just disabled Comodo temporarily; 3.10.0.2 failed just as it does with Comodo enabled.

You're connecting to a server though.

Re: 3.10.0.2 Defective
I am experiencing the same problems with the 3.10.0. .... series
No matter which way I go/setup, I only manage to connect to my server 1 in 5 times.
I have now reinstalled 3.9.0.6. and connect every time.

Re: 3.10.0.2 Defective
I spoke with tech support at Bluehost, which is aware of the newer versions of Filezilla, and the tech stated that nothing has been changed at their server site.
I created a new log on, installed version 3.10.0.2, and tried all four of FZ's encryption methods. The only one that worked for me is "Only use plain FTP." Why is that, what can I do to get the method that should work to do so?

Well if you have bluehost there is a workaround other than that. You can set the protocol to SFTP.

Re: 3.10.0.2 Defective
Thanks for trying to help; these settings are things I have no knowledge of, and even reading the help file does not mean much to me; I did not try the SFTP, having no idea what it was about, and having no one before you suggest that I try it.gregnk wrote:Well if you have bluehost there is a workaround other than that. Changed to SFTP, and got a connected to server, followed "Unexpected end-of-file from SFTP server", and "Could not connect to server".
I continue to be puzzled as to why, through 3.9.0.6, I have never had any problem using FZ, once I figured it out the first time; every update from the first until the first in the 3.10.x.x series worked. That I continue to be puzzled by everything else shall not be discussed....
(Just installed 3.10.1.1; no better, only the insecure plain FTP will connect and read the files on the server.)

Thanks for joining in. I am sure that there is a solution, but it will have to come from someone who understands these matters, I not being one of that class of people.gregnk wrote:Try enabling ssh on your account.
I know several languages, most of them quite useful, such as Anglo-Norman--well, it is useful if you want to talk with William the Conqueror. (We shall ignore the minor time differential.)
ssh, while I have heard of it, I have no knowledge, so is that something to enable on the Bluehost account? It is not mine, but I obviously have access, and I really do know much more about such things that the account owner, who knows much more than I about photography and pediatric nursing. If it is on FZ, I did not find it in the settings menu.

Re: 3.10.0.2 Defective
Used Filezilla reliably for years and it has flat-out decided to stop working with the latest update. Very annoying and I don't have the knowledge or patience to try and figure out what is wrong. I'll either find a different product, or try and install an earlier version, and very likely turn off automatic updates if I decide to continue using FileZilla.
