client icon vs server icon: suggestion

#1 Post by thedax » 2004-09-13 14:21

There have been discussions about the icons before, but I haven't found any covering what I'm going to say.

The client tray icon and the active-but-no-connections server tray icon are identical. That is confusing, and even if hovering on them with the mouse arrow solves any ambiguity, I think it would be better to tell them at a glance.

So here's my little suggestion to botg: since you already used green, yellow and red for the different statuses of the server, why not paint the client icon blue? I don't care about fancy icons, but they should at least be functional, and this is a 10-second job.

I know, there are new icons coming with V3, but meanwhile...

Keep up the good work, and thanks in advance.

PS: In case you have some time to waste on it, you could colour-code the client status as well. Something simple, like:
  • blue = client disconnected
  • violet = client connected, no transfers
  • orange = client connected, transferring
Yes, I dream too much :hammer:
