View/Edit on local files

#1 Post by emarsnet » 2007-10-20 15:32

Hi,

I see the funcionality where i view or edit files on remote servers, but cannot view or edit files locally.

I suggest implements this funcionality, its very usefull for us developers.

Thanks.

Yeah, agree 100%.

Also:
- Option to contract all folder trees in Site Manager by default (like in ZF2)
- Multiple local files should be selectable by mouse (right now empty spaces beside file names are not really empty so you cant click there and drag your mouse)
- Customizable views (list, details, ...)

That's it for now. Filezilla rocks.

View/Edit on Local Files

#3 Post by JJPrats » 2007-10-23 13:59

The capability to edit local files was available on previous versions I have used for years. I just loaded the latest version on new computer and cannot use it because of this missing feature. Will have to find an earlier version until capability returns.

Agreed!

That feature alone (I had even set it to open in Notepad++ for quick edits) was crucial. Please add!

Thanks to all the contributors to this project!

This is my biggest wish for FileZilla 3. Simple use the same programs like for remote editing on the local files.

Editing local files

#6 Post by Cassis » 2007-10-27 09:31

I'd just like to echo the above; I'll just have to go back to version 2 until local file editing is enabled. :(

I know it has to be annoying to be getting all these requests for features from F2, but I have to add another one which is related.

I'm so glad to see the View / Edit option, but I would REALLY appreciate if this could again be associated with the double-click action.

Thanks for all the hard work :)

Timeout settings are being ignored as well. Very annoying.

i don't know what dawg is talking about, but i don't see any way to edit local files from filezilla 3.0.2.1, like you could in earlier versions. i beg you to put this functionality back please!

Less whining more helping. The sourcecode is there. If you miss a feature, go add it. The more ppl complain about missing features, the less time I have to actually implement things since I have to read all these pointless threads.

Are you telling people to program Filezilla themselves????

I offered my help twice in that other thread but you're too busy making up 2-word-replies to react.

Your last reply here shows how ignorant you are to what this community is - the reason Filezilla exists and your free army of beta testers. Oh dude.
