Greetings all....
I just found FileZilla and have a couple of questions:
1. Will FileZilla server run under XP Home and/or XP Pro?
2. I have a need for automated file transfer over a dial-up line. Will FileZilla server support this operation?
3. I am modem ignorant... can anyone suggest how this modem to modem transfer could be accomplished? How do I get FileZilla to work with the modem on the server machine?
Thanks,
Robert

1 Yes
2 If you use a client which does the automated transfers, yes
3 Using a dial-up connection, yes

Will the FileZilla server run as a service?
Thanks,
Robert

By default FSZ runs as service. If you don't want to start it as service, start it with the -compat flag

That's great!
Now.... can the FileZilla client be scheduled to automatically dial a series of FTP servers (all running FileZilla server) to download files?
Thanks,
Robert

No, that's not possible yet. Automated transfers are planned for FileZilla 3.

I see... when do you expect v3 to be available?
In the meantime, I will probably just go ahead and use a product called Robo-FTP to do the scheduled transfers.
Thanks,
Robert

For scheduled transfers (I am on 56k also), it use batch files and wget to automate transfers during the night. Google for "wget for windows" or something like that, it works fine for me.
