How to make FileZilla more Protected?

#1 Post by Kaustubh1040 » 2018-01-21 15:01

Hi Friends

I am new here on this forum. I don't know where to post this question if in case I had posted in the wrong category then please accept my apology and request the moderator to move the post to correct forum.

Here is my Question

I am using FileZilla for my website and blog. But I am always worried about the security of my server. I am concern about accessing my server through FileZilla. Anyone can help me in making my server more protected and secure. How can i ensure the 100% security while accessing my server through FileZilla

Is there any way to lock out the user who input the wrong password while accessing my server through FileZilla.

Thanks in advance.

FTP security can only be configured on the FTP server, directly. Unless you have full control over the FTP server software, you can do naught.

The "how to" depends on the FTP server software and we can't help with that.

P. S. Please do not promote or advertise your websites here, it's not allowed and you risk a ban.

Use the global IP filter to restrict access, enable the bounce attack mitigation option and use complex user passwords.

While that is generally good advice, the user needs to have full administrative control over the FTP server. With a simple hosting plan, server security lies in the hands of the hosting company.
