Feature request - File selection checkbox

I'd love to be able to select multiple files using a checkbox. So many times when I Ctrl-click selecting multiple files I fail to hold down the Ctrl key and lose all the files I already selected. Seems like it might be helpful to disabled users as well. Or is this an option I just don't know how to enable already?
