I opened FileZilla this morning, a little window popped up saying there's a new version, with a blue button named "Install new version", I clicked it, it unpacks some tar bz2 file named FileZilla 2 in Downloads then opens it up, and now I have two FileZillas open, the original one with the install button and a new one...
I'm not understanding this. I'm coming from Windows, where installing an update would just update the original and not install two different versions of the app...
What am I supposed to do here? Are both apps running from Downloads? Are they both using the same files or config, overwriting each other?
One is "keep docked", the other is not... Do I just quit and undock the first one, then dock and use the 2nd? This seems cumbersome to keep updating the app this way.
"Install new version" on Mac now has 2 FileZillas...

No installer needed on Mac, you can put the application bundle wherever you like and start it from there.
You can now remove the old version.
