FTP

Can anyone tell me what this means? Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.
Could this be the reason I'm not seeing my transferred files on my website?

It means that your passwords are being transmitted unprotected over the Internet, for many snooping eyes to intercept. This is insecure. The solution to this is to use an FTP server that supports FTP over TLS.

I have the same issue, however when I contacted my server, they said it was a problem on FileZilla's part giving the error message. I'm very new to FTP and TLS so I don't know who I'm supposed to go with on the problem. They told me that even though I get the message, my files are still secure and that a lot of FileZilla users called them with the same problem. Am I supposed to just ignore the message then? I'm currently using Mac iOS 10.13.5 and FileZilla 3.36.0

No, using Plain FTP (as compared to FTP over TLS), you are transmitting everything (including passwords) in plain text. The complete data stream is readable, for everyone and everything to intercept, read, and modify (without the endpoints possibly not even noticing). Do you call that secure? If they do, then they are talking bullshit.

Sounds like a clueless server administrator. You should switch your server administrator.

So I should get rid of iPage and find another server to host my website? They switched me over to port 22 and I still get the error message in the status bar, but no longer as a pop-up notification. They said that was a secure connection even though FileZilla status bar begged to differ. I'm sorry once again. I really know nothing about all this.

Port 22 would be SFTP. It is a different protocol altogether, and it is secure/encrypted.

FileZilla's status bar is at the bottom. What does it display there?

My apologies. The bar at the top is not the status bar? It said "Status" so I assumed that was the status bar. My files bar is at the bottom. So even if I get the insecure message on port 22, should I not worry?

That bar might be from Mac OS, not FileZilla. Can't say, I don't have any Apple stuff.
