In looking at upgrading some of our network switches I found a TFTP server was suggested/needed. Somewhere we found one, but I was thinking it might be a nice feature of Filezille to add TFTP features. At first I figured this would be something good to add to the Filezilla server, but then started thinking it could amost be just as good on the client side.

The interface we had was in some ways remieded me more of Filezilla's client interface.

I also thought it might be nice if implemented on the client then there would be a good simple TFTP server that is open source for both Windows and Linux.

What do others think?

I truly love Filezilla and have gotten others hooked on it. The only thing we miss other then TFTP is automated scripting abilities.

Just curious if TFTP is real low priority for FileZila if anyone has a recommendation for a Opensource TFTP Server.

Most people I know use the free closed source TFTP product from SolarWinds
http://www.solarwinds.com/downloads/index.aspx

I did run across PumpKIN http://kin.klever.net/pumpkin/ that is open source, but not had a chance to use it much. I tried to find the License, but did not see it where they pointed.

If someone else has used it or other TFTP products I would be curious to hear feed back or if TFTP priorities had changed at all.

Hi,

I'm a regular user of FileZilla (an excellent piece of software which I recommend to friends and colleagues on a regular basis - thanks!).

I'm just in the middle of debugging the setup of a LinkSys SPA9000 VoIP PBX and SPA941 phone and would like to be able to query the SPA9000 TFTP server to take a peek at the XML being 'provisioned' to the phone. Of course I naturally turned to FileZilla to take on this task but was disappointed to see it cannot act as a TFTP (port 69) client.

I can't see why I would want to use FileZilla as a TFTP server personally but is there any chance you might be supporting TFTP on the client side anytime soon?

Thanks again!
