Enter server to administrate

#1 Post by morrisdan1 » 2019-03-01 19:56

Hi,

First, I've used the Filezilla tool in the past, about 5 years ago. However, this is may be the first I'll be using it for one of my clients.

And after downloading and installing Filezilla, am trying to sort out what info to enter in the some of the fields in the "Enter server to administrate" window such as:

Host:
Port:
Password:

Where it also says "Hostname or IP address. To refer to this computer, enter localhost." next to the Host field.

And where it also says "Enter the administration port (14147 by default), not the FTP port" next to the Port field.

And my client also gave me the following info (i.e. blocking out the personal info in this forum):

FTP username: xxxxxx
Password: xxxxxx
xx.xx.xxx.xxx port xx

Thus am trying to put the pieces together. Anyone got any advice? Thanks in advance!

Are you by chance confusing FileZilla with FileZilla Server?

That could have been it. I also do recall downloading the wrong FTP tool though. Thanks anyway.
