2 small Godaddy Plesk sites - One connects, One fails. Why?

#1 Post by Embedded » 2020-04-05 17:36

Thanks in advance for newbie help.
I have two hosting accounts at Godaddy managed by Plesk for Windows.

# 1. Is a simple one page website. - FILEZILLA CONNECTS PERFECTLY TO THIS. i can transfer in either direction.

# 2. is a working website with 2 subdomains dangling off of it. One I use as a test platform, the other is merely an alias which I use to forward to the name of the main site.

Filezilla seems to accept the UID and PWD but after the PASS***I get a 530 error and it won't let me connect to site #2.

Maddening, Any theories? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Embedded

Looks like you are connecting to two different servers.

That is what I'm attempting to do... different IP addresses, but both at go daddy. 1. is a domain/website I have had for ten years and 2. is a domain I have had for 3 years.
1. connects with Filezllla, 2. does not.

Plus, since i posted this, I stripped off the two subdomains from site #2., that did not fix the problem. Everything points to the password - but I have reset the password afresh and that does not cure the problem.

Thanks for your help.

You need to contact your server administrator or server hosting provider for further assistance.
