Newbie with FileZilla

#1 Post by infogaby » 2020-12-09 16:57

Hi,
I try to find out if I need to download the FileZilla Client or FileZilla Server?

This is what I need to do:

My Distributor is uploading a file every night via FTP and my third party software is downloading the file every day.

All there need is my FTP Credentials for either upload or download the daily file.

Which brings me to the next question?
What do I put in the host name since I am not uploading anything to a website? Can I use any name?

Hope that makes sense and explains what I am trying to accomplish.

Thank you so much for the help - I appreciate it, like I said this is totally new to me.

I'm not sure I understand your use case:
My Distributor is uploading a file every night via FTP and my third party software is downloading the file every day.
Is this already happening, or is this something you want to achieve in the end?

This is not even remotely similar. Please don't cross-post the same issue into multiple topics.
