Hi

I´ve just downloaded this Filezilla installer:
FileZilla_3.54.1_win64_sponsored-setup.exe from https://filezilla-project.org/

I´ve scanned it with https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload

So - this is the report - is this a virus?

FileZilla_3.54.1_win64_sponsored-setup.exe - Default (sponsored) installer contains optional third-party offers (so called "Adware"). There are also clean installers available.

CrowdStrike Falcon Win/malicious_confidence_90% (D) Webroot W32.Adware.Gen - Adware.Gen = Generic Adware, unfortunately, scanners threat Adware/PUP the same as real viruses.

In a related matter, I just downloaded FileZilla_3.54.1_win32-setup.exe from https://filezilla-project.org/. My Symantec Endpoint Protection claims they've known about an issue with this file for a week. The win64 downloaded with no problem.

They knew about "an issue" for one week and yet nobody bothered to investigate this false-positive? Stop giving money to this lazy snake oil vendor.
