Auto loading

ok guys newbie question i have a site where i can ftp to my site where i load photos from events
now im told but not sure its correct
if i create a folder and load to this folder on my laptop so all photos going to this folder automatically while i shoot event
so far so good
the thing im told is that firezilla can automatically load from folder while im shooting so pics are going on while im shooting ???
