Old version of FileZilla seeks simple FTP host
My version of FileZilla (2.2.32) has worked flawlessly for years by allowing me to quickly upload files at the end of each workday as a backup procedure. I was uploading from my Window XP desktop to a free FTP server offered by my email provider. This service is no longer available. I have searched for another simple FTP host, but they all seem designed for complicated uses (collaboration, website development, etc.). I don't need to exchange files with anyone. I just need to store my files remotely in case of a crash, and I'd like to keep using my old FileZilla for this. Apologies if the question is silly, but can anyone suggest a simple, inexpensive FTP host?

You need to update to the most recent version of FileZilla. The old version you are using is not secure at all anymore.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I assume the new version will work on XP.
Re: Old version of FileZilla seeks simple FTP host
No, the lowest supported Windows version by FileZilla is Windows 8.x. FileZilla does not run on XP since 2014, almost 8 years ago (version 3.9 was the last, we are now on 3.57). Windows 10 21H2 or Windows 11 21H2 are recommended OS (unless you want to use Linux).
Even if you did find a free FTP service in 2022 (which, I guess, you won't), the old, abandoned FileZilla 2.2.32 (from 2007!!!) would likely not be able to connect securely to that FTP server. However the paid FileZilla Pro can connect to several of the modern Cloud protocols, like Amazon S3, OneDrive, Google Drive etc. Much better foundation for a backup.
