Pre-order question

#1 Post by rabarrig » 2023-03-16 20:42

Hi all,

I couldn't find the info, so I kindly ask here: I'm trying to convince my superior to buy FileZilla Pro, but I need to know beforehand if the program will run on a machine running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. We would like to use a combination of FileZilla Server, Pro and/or CLI versions, so I would need to know if those three versions will work on that machine.

Thanks for your help! :)

R.

Windows Server 2008 is based on Windows Vista, which is antique. You first must update to a modern operating system before purchasing FileZilla Pro.

@botg: Server 2008 R2 is based on NT 6.1 (Windows 7 kernel) and still in support.

It still runs with the latest updates. However, running on OS does not mean being supported on said OS.

About support, no idea, at least Windows 7 (same kernel as 2008 R2) is officially unsupported from FileZilla (only 8, 10 and 11). With "still in support" I meant support from MS (there are still updates).
