Local Directory Tree View - SMB paths - Windows 11

whereas the remote view (not shown) for example shows the primary / root folder tree above while the main panel shows the contents of the container in focus. My Win 11 system doesn't show the "local" directory path/ primary root folder in the upper portion of the file browser view. I'm doubting this is a Filezilla issue as 1.) I don't recall ever noticing that before, and 2.) I'm pretty sure Win 11 has an issue w/ keeping the "presence" of mapped drives available to the system. I found a fix for it during a session on one of my many installs of Win 11 on this particular PC. :annoyed grunt: But, I must not have saved the resource because I can't find the solution anymore.

Just wanted to present this to see if anyone has commentary about the issue. Thank you!

Windows networking (SMB) is a mess. Especially for Windows 11, I've heard that in some cases does not work at all (shows nothing under Network). And it can be extremely slow detecting resource and drive labels. That's why FileZilla excludes it, scanning network resources could delay the start for several minutes. Yes, minutes.

Network drives should show up, as long as you created the drive in the same context as FileZilla runs under (by default that's your user account, non-elevated).

As for the screenshot, usually everything is under "This PC", just expand it.

I was wondering if anyone would notice that. Screenshot took at wrong time really, but I did go back and double check by expanding everything. I suppose i didn't do it prior to that screenshot because-- like you said-- it take forever to respond. In any case, the network drives are not there.

Not a huge deal as it's not prohibitive. And thank you for your attention to this thread!

UNC paths always have to be entered manually, these type of network resources won't be shown. Associated network drives should show, but , alas, Windows 11... Lots of people having issues with SMB - I mean, even more than usual.
