FTP not letting me transfer files

To preface things, nothing has changed in my settings from my end.
Anytime I try to transfer from my files or from others to my files, I am getting the following error message:
Response: 553 Can't open that file: Read-only file system
Error: Critical file transfer error
I am sure it is something simple. Thanks for your help!!

You need to contact server support, their server*s on the fritz. Note that we are not server support.
