English version please after download

I "just simply" wanted to download an FTP app.
I'm using Hostinger. It required I download FileZilla.
I did. In fact, I paid the extra to do so.
I got the app.
I got a message saying there is a new version, and it would go to my download folder.
After a couple of attempts, I got it.
It's in French.
3.66.1 for Mac.
3.63.2.1 for Mac is in English.
I would like the new version and not use the one that states, "There's a new version!" and when I download it, it's in French.
I wish I could read and speak French, but I do not.

Let me know what I am supposed to 'just simply' download.

What do you mean by that? The free FileZilla doesn't cost anything.

One of your OS preferred languages is French. If you don't speak French, why not remove it?

There's currently a bug in the graphical toolkit (wxWidgets), it selects the wrong language.


Alternative way if you don't want to fiddle with the OS:
-Install the old version.
-Ignore the New version screen for now.
-Open the settings and explicitly select English as language (not System language).
-Now update.

I paid the pro.
I have no idea how to "update the settings." I think that was my question.

Why would the OS preferred language download in French for the new version but english as the first download? That makes no sense at all.
So, there's no way to download the 3.66.1 English version?

You should only ignore the update until you selected English in the settings. Then it would not be in French after update, as you pinned it to English.

Please understand that saying you can only offer support to the most recent version is really annoying, since I cannot download the new version in English. I'm glad this was only $5. I'll just caulk it up to my own ignorance in wanting to support the developers.

Well, I went into parameters and found language and changed to English. When the next pop up came up I assume it said "changes will take affect when you reboot". I guess my two years of reading French 40 years ago came in handy. Now, onward.
