Portable Version Auto Update

FileZilla DOES automaticly check for updates, and download it to my Download folder automatically. This is very good and useful.

But I'm using a "portable" version of FileZilla, and I extracted it in my portable hard drive. (e.g. F:/ToolFolder/FileZilla/)
Today FileZilla sended me an update message, and downloaded the installer to my Download folder.

Would it be better if it can recognize itself as a portable version, and download the portable ".zip" (or something else) for me, instead of the static installer?

By the way, is there any better solution to copy the old portable config into the new version?

FileZilla does not officially have or support a portable version. The ZIP is just for people not being able to (or not liking) Installers.

You can just extract the new ZIP over the old package, preserving structure. Neither fzdefault.xml nor the configs are part of the FileZilla packages, so, they are preserved.
