Unable to reach filezilla's websites or download the program

Greetings All,

I'm with a ISP in Canada, and I have several clients located in Canada.

Many of us can't reach the website, filezilla-project.org or download.filezilla-project.org or forum.filezilla-project.org

I've tried this at quite a few locations and many cannot load the page.

This implies a CDN or WAF issue because if I do a DNS lookup and / or ping I can reach it.

If I go off my internet provider onto 5G cellular, I can also reach it.

Make sure not to use automated or scripted tools to access filezilla-project.org or any of its subdomains. Our services are intended to be accessed solely by humans in front of a web browser, and of course the FileZilla products themselves. Abuse of our services results in temporary IP bans.

Thanks for the note Tim, we are having the same issue.

We rely on a 3rd party patch tool to perform our updates and they must be using your website to pull down updates. Thus, when we had a few machines needing updating that launched about the same time, I assume that triggered your blocking mechanisms. Not a problem, totally understand.

Quick question for you?

I assume any vendor or 3pp provider can download the file and the distribute over their own CDN networks to take on the burden of the bandwidth for distributing the software through their patching utilities? If not, is there a place to go to understand any right/wrong here to ensure no violations occur with your software?

Yes, the license of FileZilla explicitly allows redistribution. See https://filezilla-project.org/license.php for details.
