Sitemap Virus Attack

Recently I have what appears to be virus that attack's sitemaps
When I go to view my site maps via MS text or Open Office I get Chinese charactor's.
Yet when I checked online the sitemap appears okay.
I tried to download the sitemaps from my site with OVERIGHT but the downloaded files still show the corrupted Chinese Version.
for example my online sitemap

Code: Select all

https://asisbiz.com/Sitemap-Italy.xml
when I go to access on my c drive I get this.
If you have any advice I have run a virus scan using Bitedefender and have deleted the virus from a website I downloaded.
scan is now saying everything okay. I also checked my windows and ran a check on that.
Any ideas

Code: Select all

when I saved the site sitemap directly to my desktop not using filezilla it was fine

It's a plain and simple encoding issue, no virus or attack. If you encode things wrongly and content comes out garbage, it appears Chinese purely due to the sheer number of characters of that language.
