:D Can anyone give me a simple answer, about the following question please: In order to upload a file do I need to have an ftp site and if yes where can I get, is it free or do I have to pay?

yes, you do need a server with ftp. i suggest http://www.canaca.com they are cheap, have more then you need. and good.

i wanted to say how much i appreciate filezilla, i use it exclusively because thats how good it is. thanks.

Forgive me for saying so, but this just seems backwards. I've never *wanted* to ftp, and then hunted around for some ftp site. I've always had some particular file (or group of files) on one computer and wanted them on some other particular computers -- and *then* I saw that ftp was probably the best way to transfer them.

If you own the computer you want to upload the file to, and it doesn't already have a FTP server on it, you can install a FTP server on it. Many of them are free, such as the FileZilla server.

If you don't own the particular computer you want to upload the file to, then it's up to the owner whether you pay or not. Ask the owner. The FileZilla forum is the wrong place to ask.
