Feature suggestion/request: preserving file date/timestamp

#1 Post by daluu » 2005-03-07 01:58

I've only recently tried out both the Filezilla server and client. The client is very good & fast. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to preserve the file's date and timestamp (as defined on the FTP server). I haven't tried many FTP clients and don't know if many support preserving the date and time information. I know it is preserved with WS FTP LE (v5.0x). I couldn't find any option for preserving the time and date in the latest client.

If it is supported on the client, please tell me how to activate. If not, I'd recommend you add this feature. It would really make Filezilla a great FTP client.

btw, the server version ROCKS! a whole lot better than MS IIS FTP server.

Preserving timestamps on file download can be enabled in the settings dialog. Preserving timestamps on file uploads is not possible with the FTP protocol.

thanks for the info. I must of missed that option when I was looking over the list of settings.
